Diabetic Retinopathy Grading Course

This course aims, to help you develop and improve your knowledge in assessing retinal images for diabetic retinopathy. The course is provided in English and based entirely online.  There is one formal online exam during the final week, and on successful completion you will receive a certificate of achievement from the Gloucestershire Retinal Education Group. The course consists of online learning, videos, self- tests and additional reading.
You will develop the skills required to identify the appearance and significance of retinal damage caused by diabetes and learn how to identify and reduce risks associated with diabetes in the development of sight threatening retinopathy.

This course is appropriate for personnel employed outside of the United Kingdom within international health institutions undertaking digital diabetic retinopathy screening.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however we advise that all students are:

  • Able to use computer systems and must have access to the internet to complete their distance learning
  • Have sufficient competence in English to understand the course
  • Work within a health institution where you have the opportunity to assess images for diabetic retinopathy

The course fees are £450, payable in advance.
