Papilloedema or Pseudopapilloedema?
This 1 hour course aims, through online learning and the completion of an end of course multiple choice test, to develop and improve your knowledge in differentiating between papilloedema and pseudopapilloedema. By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Provide an effective explanation to patients presenting with disc swelling about their condition, its management and any referral or treatment that may be required
- Understand the ability and limitation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) to aid in the discrimination between papilloedema and pseudopapilloedema using a systematic approach and by combining different OCT scan types
- Create a strategy for papilloedema case detection using OCT in combination with signs, symptoms and the results from other clinical tests and so refer accordingly
