This entry-level course has been designed as an introduction for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Through a combination of online learning modules, assessments, and the submission of OCT scans, participants will gain a deeper understanding of OCT technology and its application in clinical environments.

The teaching is provided by Gloucestershire Research & Education Group and participants will receive an in-house certificate from the Gloucestershire Research & Education Group, on successful completion.

This course is currently unavailable while we update its content and structure to improve your learning experience.

The topics covered in this training include:

  • Anatomy of the posterior segment
  • Descriptive terms in OCT – Qualitative skills
  • Preparation and Capture of OCT scans
  • Types of OCT scans:
      • Scan Quality
      • Artefacts

Students have the opportunity to submit scans they have taken for review, and receive advice on the quality of the scan and how these may be improved.
