This course has been designed for individuals who wish to improve their knowledge of the anatomy of the eye. It is an introductory course that includes teaching on the external and internal structures of the eye, the anterior and posterior segment of the eye, ocular muscles, and orbital bones.

The teaching is provided by Gloucestershire Retinal Education Group and participants will receive an in-house certificate from the Gloucestershire Retinal Education Group, on successful completion.

This course introduces students to the internal and external structures of the eye, and includes detailed information on their appearance, location, and function. The topics covered include:

  • External Structures of the Eye
  • Internal Structures of the Eye
  • Internal Organs of the Eye
  • Anterior Segment

By the end of the course the student will be able to:

  •        Identify the internal and external structures of the eye
  •        Identify parts of the eye located in the anterior and posterior segments of the eye
  •        Understand the key functions of the structures within the eye
  •        Explain how the orbit and extraocular muscles support the eye

There are no entry requirements for this course.

It is suitable for anyone who would like to gain and improve their knowledge of this topic.
