Why Study with Us?
There are many reasons to choose to study with Gloucestershire Research & Education Group. Whatever your reasons are for studying, whether you want to develop your career, or are looking for a personal challenge, we are ready to help you achieve your goals. Here are a few reasons why you should choose to study with us.
Students are at the heart of everything we do
All of our courses are designed to support individuals working in the healthcare sector, and have been developed by experts in their field. We know, from experience, that workload affects the amount of time available for formal education, which is why we offer a combination of e-learning, face to face, and blended learning courses. We have a large portfolio of courses for students to choose from, available at different levels to meet the needs of both new and more experienced learners who are looking to take their knowledge to the next level.
Participation in education leads to improvements in quality and patient care; promotes staff engagement and retention, and enables appropriately qualified staff to share their knowledge with their colleagues. Throughout their studies, students have the opportunity to develop their skills and understanding in their chosen subject, and are encouraged to continue the application of learning in their own context, to inform their practice and to facilitate discussions with their peers.
As recognition of attainment, depending on the course students will receive either university or inhouse certificates on completion.
The course is a well-structured e-learning programme with support from a number of experienced assessors. The learning activities are achieved at my current workplace which help me for daily clinical operation in imaging capture.

Accessible and flexible teaching and learning environments
Hosted on a virtual learning environment (VLE), our teaching allows students to start, pause, and return to their learning exactly where they left off, 24 hours a day. The VLE is also where students will be assessed, through online exams, written assignments and portfolio submissions.
Students who prefer a more traditional classroom approach can choose from our face to face and blended learning courses. These give the student direct access to our expert tutors with protected time away from the workplace to concentrate on learning, to interact with other students, share experiences and receive feedback.
Excellent course, highly recommend this to anyone working in ophthalmology. An essential course that will ensure your knowledge and skills will be applied in your every day clinical work.

Student Support
Our helpdesk team are your first point of contact, and are available to support you to ensure you have a positive experience studying with us. If they are unable to provide the support you need, they will direct your query to the most appropriate person. Course mentors are also available to respond to any content related queries, and provide students with expert guidance and advice.
We have a diverse and inclusive approach and work with our students to support and accommodate their needs. We encourage students to disclose any additional educational needs on application so we can put in place timely support from the beginning of their studies. We also understand students’ circumstances may change during their studies, and have options available to support them.
All courses are provided in English. For students whose first language is not English, evidence of their English language ability may be required, but we will take a flexible approach to ensure that they are not disadvantaged.
I think any person working in the medical retina clinic needs this course to broaden their understanding of the damage caused by diabetes to the retina.
