This qualification is applicable to staff who assess learners undertaking the Health Screeners Diploma. The qualification is delivered via distance learning through an online portfolio and ongoing tutorials. For further information about this award please contact us using the enquiry form.
ASSESSING

All learners must be working in an appropriate NHS Screening role in order to start the qualification. All learners will require a qualified assessor to start the Health Screeners Diploma qualification.

Programmes without a qualified assessor can request assessor support from the course team or can request assessor training as part of the learner application process.

For more information on the entry requirements for the assessor training, please contact us via the Enquire Now.

NHS England (NHSE) will fully fund learners who are eligible based on specific requirements; NHSE funding will only cover the full award qualifications which are as follows:

  • Health Screeners Diploma – Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screener
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Newborn Hearing Screener
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Diabetic Eye Screener Grader with OCT
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Diabetic Eye Screener Grader
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Diabetic Eye Screener
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Diabetic Eye Grader with OCT
  • Health Screeners Diploma – Diabetic Eye Grader

NHSE is offering funding for both the pathway and centre’s assessor service, for the first 250 learners. This funding is claimed directly by us from NHS England, meaning programmes do not need to complete any additional forms to access it.

All sections of the application form must be completed, including the funding section; the funding section should outline who will be paying for the learner’s qualification if the NHS England funding is no longer available. This information is necessary because the funding may be exhausted by the time the application is submitted, in which case we would need to invoice the programme.

The funding from NHSE will restart again at start of the new financial year (For Example: April 2027).
