White Dot Syndromes

This series of courses has been designed for individuals who would like to develop and improve their knowledge of a group of inflammatory chorioretinopathies called white dot syndromes, which vary in severity.
The course titles are:
- Part 1: Less Severe White Dot Syndromes
- Part 2: More Severe White Dot Syndromes
- Part 3: White Dot Syndromes Conclusion
Whilst anyone can register for these courses, their primary focus is to support Optometrists in their clinical practice and CPD, providing clinical pearls to inform the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients presenting with white dot syndromes.
These courses are only available as a complete package to ensure students gain a comprehensive understanding of white dot syndromes, their varying severities, and the ability to differentiate between the different types.
The teaching is provided by Gloucestershire Research & Education Group and participants will receive an in-house certificate from the Gloucestershire Research & Education Group, on successful completion.

Part 1
Less Severe White Dot Syndromes
This course presents five white dot syndromes, which often require observation rather than treatment, and will guide you through differentiating between these.
Part 2
More Severe White Dot Syndromes
This course presents five white dot syndromes, which often require treatment rather than observation alone, and will guide you through differentiating between these.
Part 3
White Dot Syndromes Conclusion
This teaching presents a condition associated with some of the white dot syndromes discussed in Parts 1 and 2. It also includes an overall conclusion and provides guidance on how to manage patients in your clinical practice.
By the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Provide an effective explanation to patients presenting with white dot syndromes about their condition, its management and any referral or treatment that may be required
- Recognise the presentation of different white dots syndromes on various imaging modalities
- Distinguish between the different white dot syndromes and make appropriate recommendations for management in practice or referral
- Differentiate between the less severe and more severe white dot syndromes

- 1 non-interactive CPD point is available to individuals who successfully complete Part 1: Less Severe White Dot Syndromes
- 1 non-interactive CPD point is available to individuals who successfully complete Part 2: More Severe White Dot Syndromes
